The mission of DIGNITY RECOVERY CORPORATION is to provide SAFE, DIGNIFIED, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING for homeless, drug-free women with children from the Philadelphia Metropolitan area in order to help them RE-ENTER society in a healthy and productive manner. Our professional, caring staff strives to help homeless, drug-free women with children overcome their obstacles to self-sufficency and/or the negative effects of drug addiction on their lives as well as the lives of their children and families. We provide our residents safe, dignified, transitional housing by providing them with the knowledge they need to adequately re-enter society with their heads held high by offering Assistance with long-Term Housing, Intensive Case Management Services that focuses on making the mother more employable and therefore, more self sufficient. We provide Relapse Prevention Training, HIV/AIDS Education, Domestic Violence Education, Parenting Classes, G.E.D. preparation, and NA/AA 12-Step meetings. We are located in the Frankford section of the city. We strive to provide Safe, Dignified, Transitional Housing that would enrich, educate, and raise the overall self-sufficiency of our residents so that they could once again regain their place of HONOR, RESPECT, & DIGNITY within their families and their communities.
About Us
Our founder and executive director, Jeffrey Jackson, M.A., started the Dignity Recovery Corporation to alleviate the extreme shortage of DIGNIFIED housing for homeless, drug-free women in the city of Philadelphia. We accept referrals from all of the drug and alcohol programs within the city of Philadelphia, as well as from the city shelter system and from city churches and community centers for those who meet our criteria. For more than 10 years, our director has tried to educate, as well as restore, the self-respect and dignity to those affected by homelessness and/or drug addiction.
